Our Connection
The Ricetti ranch, located in the remote Redwood Valley of Mendocino county, is one of our most recent and serendipitous viticultural connections. The 1942-planted Carignane vines on this ranch have been the source of our rose, La Grenouille Rougante, since 2015 when Rory Williams happened to be driving past the ranch and was struck by its stately old vines and the obvious attention paid to the farming.
Rory identified a kindred spirit in Tom Ricetti, another passionate organic farmer who, along with his wife Pam, has been caring for this vineyard for decades. This family’s commitment and passion for a storied but obscure variety means Ricetti grapes are an in-demand item for several other great wineries on the North Coast and we couldn’t be more pleased to have the privilege of vinifying their fruit. In fact, you could say we’re tickled pink!
