Bring your wonder and questions as Joy Wesley, our resident beekeeper, shares how she helps to promote a regenerative habitat for our honey bees. Bees contribute mightily to our farming system, learn how with a visit to our Red Barn Ranch hive, while you sip Frog’s Leap La Grenouille Rouganté, to discuss hive management, honey bee biology, and the anatomy of a beehive. Then put your tasting skills to the test, as the experience culminates in an exploration of three different honeys, where you’ll learn (and taste) how each reflects the habitat that the honeybee forages in. A casual tasting of four Frog’s Leap wines, including a special library selection, will follow.
Joy founded Bee Focused Beekeeping and turned her lifelong fascination with bees into an opportunity to observe, love, and share the message of what bees provide us and our planet. With a background in the wine industry, Joy promotes regenerative habitats for pollinators and takes loving care of hives throughout Napa and Sonoma counties.
This is an outdoor experience and tasting. Dressing in layers is recommended.
